Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a new chapter in my creative journey, one that is deeply personal, wonderfully exciting, and filled with endless possibilities.
Hello, beautiful readers. I’m Brenda C Ross, and I’d like you to meet Brenna C. Rose.
Brenna C. Rose is my pen name, my literary identity, and the creative voice through which I will share my passion for storytelling, romance, mystery, and the supernatural.
Although the name may be new, the woman behind it is still very much me. The imagination, the emotions, the creativity, and the love poured into every story come straight from my heart.
And I couldn’t be more excited to invite you along for this journey.
The Woman Behind the Name
I’ve always believed that storytelling is about more than simply putting words together. It’s about creating something that makes people feel.
It’s about those moments when a character’s heartbreak becomes your heartbreak, when an unexpected revelation leaves you speechless, or when two people share a connection so powerful that you find yourself holding your breath, hoping love will somehow find a way.
As Brenda C Ross, I’m a woman who appreciates creativity, personal growth, confidence, and the beauty of expressing yourself without limitations.
I have a passion for bringing ideas to life, connecting with people, and exploring the many ways we can inspire, entertain, and empower one another.
Writing gives me another beautiful way to do exactly that.
Through my stories, I can explore emotions, relationships, impossible choices, and extraordinary worlds. I can imagine what happens when love challenges everything we thought we knew about ourselves.
And sometimes, I can ask the questions that make a truly unforgettable romance.

Those are the kinds of possibilities that inspire me.
Why I Chose the Name Brenna C. Rose
Choosing a pen name was about more than creating an author identity. I wanted something that felt personal, feminine, elegant, romantic, and timeless.
Something that represented both who I am and the stories I want to tell.
Brenna C. Rose was inspired by my real name, Brenda C Ross.
I wanted to preserve a piece of myself while giving my creative identity room to blossom into something uniquely its own.
Brenna is a reflection of Brenda. The middle initial honors Carol. And Rose is a romantic interpretation of Ross, carrying with it the beauty, softness, strength, and symbolism of a flower that has long represented love and passion.
To me, a rose is the perfect symbol for romance.
Beautiful, delicate, and captivating, yet protected by thorns.
Much like the love stories I enjoy creating.
Because love isn’t always easy. Sometimes it comes with sacrifice, heartbreak, secrets, and choices that change everything.
And sometimes, the most beautiful love stories are the ones that refuse to follow the rules.
Why African American Paranormal Romance Has My Heart
There is something incredibly captivating about a romance that reaches beyond the ordinary.
I love the idea that two souls can recognize one another before their minds understand why. That destiny can bring people together across worlds, lifetimes, and impossible circumstances.
But what makes these stories even more meaningful to me is the opportunity to place powerful, intelligent, beautiful, and multidimensional Black women at the center of extraordinary love stories.
I want my heroines to be more than someone waiting to be rescued.
I want them to be strong enough to challenge destiny, intelligent enough to uncover hidden truths, vulnerable enough to experience real love, and courageous enough to make choices that may change their entire world.
They can be brilliant, stubborn, compassionate, passionate, guarded, ambitious, and beautifully imperfect.
They can love deeply without losing themselves.
And they deserve romances that are every bit as magical, complicated, and unforgettable as they are.
My love for African American paranormal romance comes from the freedom to combine emotional storytelling with supernatural possibilities.
Fated mates. Forbidden love. Immortal beings. Ancient secrets. Hidden realms. Powerful bloodlines. Unbreakable bonds.
And, of course, a little drama.
Okay, maybe more than a little drama!

The Forgotten Wife joins my collection of romantic stories, carrying a title that invites questions about love, loss, and the truths that may lie beneath the surface.

These are the kinds of emotional mysteries I love exploring through storytelling.

More Than Romance — Stories About Strength, Choices, and Becoming
Although romance is at the heart of my writing, I want my stories to offer something deeper.
I want readers to recognize pieces of themselves in my characters.
The woman who has loved someone for years but begins questioning whether she’s truly happy.
The woman who discovers that her greatest strength has been hidden inside her all along.
The woman who must decide whether to follow her heart, honor her responsibilities, or choose herself for the very first time.
I believe there is beauty in telling stories about women who are still discovering who they are.

Women who love fiercely.
Women who refuse to be defined solely by their relationships.
And women who realize that sometimes the greatest transformation isn’t falling in love with someone else, but discovering their own worth.

Creating Brenna C. Rose doesn’t mean leaving Brenda Carol Ross behind.
Quite the opposite.
It means embracing another part of who I am.
The same woman who believes in confidence, wellness, self-expression, and living life with purpose is also the woman who dreams up supernatural worlds, complicated love triangles, unforgettable characters, and romances that challenge fate itself.
Both identities belong to me.
